So I came online with the intention to excuse myself from posting today and to lament about the enourmous amount of work I have to do for a paper that is due on Friday. Now as a mom I can multi-task with the best of 'em; but with Li'l Bit's untimely bout of the Flu, Big Byte recruiting me as Mommy Motivator to help with strategies for revision -home made flash cards, colour coding and so on; a little freelance writing project to complete (also by Friday) and my hundred-and -one other day to day routines notwithstanding, I'm feeling just a tinsy winsy bit over-extended! Is there enough coffee in the world to get me through this, I hear myself asking.
HOWEVER, moments ago I got this fabulous idea. My paper is about teaching stlyes and how they can affect student outcomes. I'm interested in finding out about how different teachers affect students' experience and the extent to which a teacher's stlye can have a lasting effect on a student's life. THAT'S WHERE YOU COME IN. I'd be really interested to hear about the effects on your life (or other's lives) that a particular teacher or several teachers have had, and how important you think a teacher's attitude, mannerisms, style and knowledge is. This would make me very happy, so happy I would thank you, many times. Maybe even mow your lawn, walk your dog, do you like diamonds?
Look forward to hearing from you. Start writing!
I had a teacher when I was elevel who was so blown away by my literary abillities she started to really encourage me and worked very closely with me. I think without her positive attitude and encouragement I wouldn't have had the confidence to choose writing as a career.
ReplyDeleteI remember a teacher from when I was six years old who slapped my legs for not having finished my work on time. To this day I remember the humiliation I felt going back to my seat. So Mrs Satathswaite if you are out there thanks for showing me how not to teach - I actually adore my class of kids. Luckily the experience didn't put me off school, just off her. And though you may now be 100 years old you should keep your legs well guarded, Be warned, I'm out here. (kidding of course!)
