Continuing our discussion on success
So thinking a little deeper about the success/celebrity dichotomy I started to mentally list celebs who were prior educated or those who 'went back' after getting a taste of stardom. Let's see, Rudy Huxtable (Keshia Knight Pulliam) went back and earned a Sociology degree from Spellman in 2001:
Ashley Judd graduated from the University of Kentucky; majoring in French and minoring in Anthropology (cool!):
Julia Stiles ("10 Things I Hate About You" and "Save the Last Dance") graduated in 2005 from New York's prestigious Columbia University with a degree in English.
And then of course there's Sinbad, one of the funniest men of the 80's. He attended the University of Denver (don't have much more info than that but I remember he talked about college life in some of his skits). I thought he was great and admired him because he advocated education. I was going to use him as one of my examples of people who had a back- up plan, people who had the foresight to realize that celebrity was a game of Russian Roulette; until I found out that he is now in the process (allegedly) of filing bankruptcy. So now where does that leave my theory of education vs reaching for the stars. Well, in all honesty it leaves it pretty much intact. Because if you read the last part of my blog I made sure to mention that wisdom and smart budgeting were also very important considerations.
And if college just isn't for you, that's OK, maximize your God -given skills and let them work for you. Max-out you potential!

I would agree with you. You can have education instead of stardom and celebritism, the key is good budgeting.
