How to Celebrate Halloween the Christian way (Oohhh, oxymororon!)
How About; How not to Celebrate Halloween

It has come to that time of year again where many of us struggle with decisions on how to handle Halloween. There are many who stand by their convictions and choose not to indulge at all. And there are others who feel compelled to allow their children to join in with the festivities so as not to make them feel 'left-out'. Whatever your decision, stay true to your convictions and make sure you explain to your children your philosophy as a family.

Things You’ll Need:
Full sized pumpkin
Watermelon
Appropriate carving tools
Candy
A sense of humor

Step 1

Fully research the history of Halloween and teach it to your children in a manner appropriate to their ages.

Step 2
Explain to your child what your beliefs are and how they either line up with, or conflict with Halloween.

Step 3
It's OK to change the name of the occasion to suit your family; we call it Costume Day. We use it as an opportunity to dress up, act a little crazy, and consume copious amounts of candy once a year.

Step 4
If you are not keen on the whole pumpkin idea, try carving a watermelon with a family friendly theme.

Step 5
I usually wait until the 31st to buy candy, when it has all been marked down in a desperate attempt to get rid of the surplus. It's a risk, but there is usually some left; enough to get you through the evening.

Step 6
Most of all have fun and be guided by your convictions, not the pressure of society.

If for no other reason, you are preventing a major egging of your beautiful home.

Ohh, ggotta go. Se if there's any candy left at Walmart.
